  2. I pre-ordered too, Alyssa. I think a lot of people must have because this morning I noticed that it was the #1 selling book at Barnes and Noble online. #1 and it isn't even going to be published til May!

  3. Do you think if I tried I would be able to read the opening flap or get a sense of what the book is about or something-or was that kept a secret too. I was thinking about your comment above and do you think it will win a 2012 award. Has he won any awards (besides the one I made up?)

  6. This page has a brief summary.

    http://disney.go.com/disneybooks/kanechronicles/series.html

    As for awards -
The Lost Hero won B&N's best books for children award for 2010.

    He also won:
2008 Mark Twain Award for The Lightning Thief
2009 Mark Twain Award for The Sea of Monsters
2009 Rebecca Caudill Award for The Lightning Thief

I think you'll like the Rebecca Caudill award because it's voted on by children (in Illinois). No wonder he won!

  7. You might not know the answer but I'll ask anyway- why did Rick Riordan tell us the sequel to The Heros of Olympus and keep the sequel to The Kane Chronicles a secret until now?

  8. Hi Alyssa,

I don't know why except that it seems to be his publisher's decision. In every interview I've seen, he simply says he can't say more about it now. I'm guessing it's to build excitement for the series. I'll let you know if I find out more.

  13. If I buy Eragon on inook from b&n for my itouch do you think that it would be able to install beacause b&n said the book would work for nook. Is nook the same as inook? Thank you soooooo much for all your responses and answers!

  14. Hi Alyssa,
I'm not sure what you mean by inook? I haven't seen it. If you mean the nook app for iPad or iPhone, that does work on your iTouch. You could check it out at B&N because they have a sample of Eragon you can download for free. Try downloading the sample. If you can download that and read it, then you know the book will work. You'd have to already have downloaded the nook app for iPhone though. It's free in the app store.

  15. Hi Mrs.Curry, this is Alexandra from 5th grade. I see that only Alyssa and you are writing. What I wanted to tell you is that maybe I could give "The Lost Hero" back to you and I can buy my own.
    1. P.S. I can't wait to read "The Throne of Fire"
    2. P.S. I miss you!!!!!! ;(
    Love, Alex

  16. Hi Alex,
    I miss you too!

If you want to buy your own copy of The Lost Hero I certainly understand, but there's no rush to return mine. As far as I know, no one is particularly waiting to read it right now. I do have a 2nd copy that someone else is reading. So take your time.

Did you see where I showed Alyssa she could read the first chapter of Throne of Fire? I haven't read it yet because then I'll just be that much more anxious for the book to come out. But I might give in and read it.

Mrs.Curry,....HI!! I was just wondering where Isabelle B. wrote on the book blog. I don't see any comment that she wrote. do you know where it is??

  23. Hi Mrs.Curry! I finally got Throne of Fire from the Kane series, I can't wait to read The Son of Neptune for the heroes of Olympus series. Kaylin, Teressa, Bobby, and I are also currently doing a project about Greece, so we will be sure to include mythology.
